Dont understand.. - Anxiety Message Board

Hello,
A good friend of mine suffers from everyday type Anxiety.Her doctor prescribed Xanax and she's taken Paxil and a few other Anti-Depressive type meds..What I dont understand is,if the Anxiety she has isn't disrupting her life then why is she taking these meds?Im not talking about .05 or 1 mg Xanax,Im talking 2 mg several times per day!This is more than I ever took and I have full blown Panic Disorder AND Agoraphobia!!

Hi Chrysanthemum,
What got me about her taking it is the MG for everyday type Anxiety.She doesnt have Panic Disorder,just worries about everyday type problems..She has never been in counseling..I took Xanax for 4 1/2 years and at my own request had my doctor slowly wean me from it.The doctor that prescribed her Xanax I wouldnt send my dog too!!
