Anyone taking these 2 meds together, if so how much of each.

they are both antidepressants although trazodone is often prescribed for sleep as it sedates many

Ive heard of people taking trazodone with an ssri, but i also heard its bad to do this because they both affect serotonin and when mixed can cause serotonin syndrome which can be deadly. i want to try paxil but im worried about insomnia and want to take something to help me sleep. does anyone take paxil and have insomnia, and if so what do you take for it? thanks.

I took Celexa and trazadone toghether, but do not take them 'together'. Celexa is very similar to Paxil. I took 60mgs Celexa in the am, and 100mgs of Traz at night. Hated them both. But the Celexa did create insomnia and the Trazadone knocked me out. I hated the Traz because it made my nose so stuffy i felt like I was sufficating.

My roomate was told to take either one or the other. She tried Zoloft for a while, then decided to switch to Trazodone and she likes it better.
