Irritated by unnecessary noise. Can you relate?
Seems as though I've always been bothered by unnecessary noise and it's worse when my anxiety is up like it has been for some time here lately. I live in an apartment complex and some tenants moved in with some young children a few weeks ago. They tend to play in the breezeway downstairs and make a lot of raquet just about every day. Told the manager about this recently, but they still play out there. They used to run up and down the stairs like it's a game.
Seem to have developed a short fuse towards unnecessary noise and it can cause me to become very irritated and then my anxiety shoots up higher. Feel like I've got a bad case of nerves or something. Like I could explode. I have to have quiet to a reasonable degree or feel like having a fit. I'm getting ready to move in a couple weeks and that in itself causes anxiety, plus I worry about what it's going to be like at the new place. In the past I've been bothered by other people's stereo systems. I have one too, but rarely use it, and when I do no one is going to hear it. I keep it turned way down or use headphones.
Is anyone extra sensitive and bothered more so by noise because of their anxiety being way out of whack? What do you do and how do you handle it, or do you? I know I worry too much, but right now I can't help it. I'm on edge. MV
