Hi all. I have heard good and bad things about pretty much all forms of B.C. I'm currently on depo provera and HATE it. I bleed non stop and my skin is a mess. I want to switch to a pill and was considering Yasmin or Ortho tricyclen (sp?). Is there anything out there that most people have success with as far as not experiencing these side effects? Thanks a lot

I've had pretty good success with the Alesse brand. Only noticable side effect was a lighter period.

Hey, I was on Yasmin for 4 months before I quit because of scary side effects that started happening (arm pain, finger numbness, leg throbbing) BUT - I never lost my sex drive on it and in fact, my orgasm's felt more intense. Also, I never gained weight on it (lost weight in fact) and only had an initial acne break out in the 2nd week - face was clear after that. I guess I say try it out and see if it works well for you.

I was on yasmin since January. Well a few months later I got really sick. The pill become less effective from all the diarreah and vomitting. Now I am around 8 weeks pregnant. All I can say now is use back up when neccessary. But I never really had side effects, actually I liked it. But.................

I'm on Alesse and I love it -- works great. Been on it for like, 3 years now.

I have been on Yasmin for over a year and haven't had any trouble/side affects. The only thing I've noticed is some light spotting about a week before my period but that ofcourse can be taken care of & dealt with. I would highly recommend Yasmin! I was considering switching because it is a little expensive with my insurance BUT it's the ONLY BC out there like it and the side affect are minimal but I guess it just varies from person to person. I would give it a try, it's definitely worth it. The worse thing that could happen is you could suffer from a side affect but then you could just switch to another form/brand of BC. It's a really great pill, my doctor seemed really impressed with it and b/c of her I am still on it. Good Luck!

I'm on Ortho Novum 7/7/7 and I love it! I tried Othro Tricyclen and I didn't like it... made me really moody. Now my periods run like clock work, although, since I have become sexually active, my periods have gotten heavier. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/t_down.gif Oh well.
I also have little side effects with the pill. I didn't gain any weight, and it helped with my complection!
