has anyone ever had what appeared to be a cut (like a paper cut) on the side of the mouth? it hurts like heck, and always seems to open whenever you open your mouth. well, my question is any idea what it is, and can you give something to your b/f-g/f when you are intamite? thanks

Every time I get a cold sore that's where it's at. Hurts like heck too. If yours is a cold sore, yes they're very contagious. Don't kiss or share your glass/silverware, and definitely don't perform oral sex on your partner. I don't know if what you have is a cold sore or not, but better to be safe than sorry.

From my experience those weren't cold sores. They just happened when the weather was really dry or when I was on accutane which made my skin really dry and just causes those cuts. Best thing to do I found was to keep them really moisturized with something like lip balm and they should usually close up after a couple days, just try not to touch them or open your mouth to wide and aggrevate them.

tanks, i really didn't think they were cold sore, just nasty little cut like a paper cut. someone once told me it might be some kind of vitamin lacking in my diet, i just don't know what kind. tanks for the help.

Use vaseline on these areas to help heal them up quickly. Not you will give nor catch anything from these.
