Ok gals, I have been on the pill for about 7 years (age 25 now)...I am now looking into trying something other than the pill, but I have NO IDEA what my options are and how effective they can be...is it best to stay on the pill if it is being used simply for birth control (not acne, or regulation, etc)???
I was thinking about stopping b/c I am uncertain as to long-term effects that the pill may have on my body and its balance. Is that nothing to worry about?

do you use something else? any side effects? any statictics on what you use?

This is such a confusing topic, and sometimes it's nice to hear from those who actually USE the various methods....I will speak to my doctor but I want to have some info going into the discussion...

Thanks!

Hi there. There are a few web sites out there (like Planned Parenthood) that will give you a run down of the different types of birth control options available with all the pros, cons, risks, side effects and effectiveness listed.

Me, I've always stuck with the pill or condoms and neither has failed me. Also, you are still young enough that your age isn't going to be a factor in if you should continue using the pill, but you didn't say if you smoked. If you don't, and you aren't experiencing any side effects, and aren't worried about STDs, then you're probably using the best option available.
