I need a quick response on this. I have heard of people using depakote and neurtonin. What else? Have tried all the NSAIDS.

Took prednisone for a week, but not longer. I think it realy has a lot of side effects.

Starr,
Neurontin and Tegretol are anti-seizure drugs, epilepsy that type of thing. They are also used to treat nerve pain and people do real well with it, once it gets in your system and you adjust to it. Carole, who posts on this board is having good luck with the neurontin. I tried it and should have stuck with it but I was like I was walking backwards. My mind was in such a fog, I felt too weird. I didn't give it long enough but a real big chance I am going to try it again and do it right this time. Lots and lots of people are on it for nerve pain in their backs. I can see how it would work for TMJD since a lot of it is nerve related. They start you out a low dose and work up, if you come off of it, you do it gradually.

I take Neurontin and Keppra for the nerve pain in my face associated with TMJD. I also rarely take Ultram.
