Unbelievable...we just moved to Florida and our complex has 2 pools. So I have been taking my 4 year old swimming almost every day and she loves it. Well, after about 1 month of no TMJ symptoms, they are back full blown. And I have came to the conclusion that it is from swimming. I like to swim under water alot and by the holding in the air and exhaling, has irritated my jaw. Back to square one.

P.S. anyone know of any TMJ docs in the Orlando area?

This happened to me too. I put my head under water in a baby pool, I was doing good for three months, and everything came back. All my symptoms are ear related.

my surgeon told me I could not do underwater activities for 10 weeks after all of my tmj surgeries. He said it was due to the pressure change. Airplanes cause problems with mine too. Probably similar in your case
