I have had TMJ problems for about 6 years now. I have daily headaches and pain. I have been to Physical Therapy as well.
I seem to always have the pain and headaches on my left side. Why is it hurting behind my left ear? Thanks.

MOst of my discomfort is on the left as well. I assume it is because the tm joint on the left is in worse shape than the other one. I know that the joint is far more prominent on that side and the cracking occurs on that side only.

Hi,
I was just going to make a post about this untill I saw yours.
I get really bad pain behind my left ear too, along with the bad headaches and everything else..I just started getting ringing in my ears, it is almost a sharp high pitch ring do you get that? The pain behind my ear is painful. It is a very sharp intense pain I just wish would go away. My jaw shift to that side whenever I open my mouth so my left tmj must be wore then my right. I wish there was something we can do for the pain.
take care,
Starr

Hi...this is really scary. I have TMJ as well, and came here looking for help with a peticular symptom I have.
My post would look identical to everyone else's!
Is there something to this left-side thing? I can't even sleep on my left side anymore without waking to severe deep pain. I did find that a moist hot cloth out of the micro-wave, held on it for about 15mins. is the only thing that helps in easing the flare-up. But I can’t put any pressure, for any length of time, on the left side of my head anymore.
Is this really part of the TMJ?
