Hi All,
I was diagnosed with TMJ in August and got a splint to wear all the time. It is helping a lot. I still have way too many headaches, but I can often go 2-4 days without a headache! :) I have to get a new splint made next time I go back to the doctor because this one is getting too thin. I just wanted to share my good news.

It is always so nice to hear someone found some relief from tmj pain. It keeps us hopefull
What kind of splint are you wearing? Do you wear it 24-7?
Good luck and hope you stay tmj free

Starr,
I wear an appliance (splint) that covers all of my bottom teeth. I am a substitute teacher with a slight speech impairment, so I don't wear the appliance 24/7, but I do wear it as much as possible. If I begin to get a headache and notice right away, if I put the splint in, it sometimes gets rid of it or at least keeps my headache from getting any worse. Right now, my opening is really really good. Don't know what it is, but the doctor and assistant have been pleased. It is better than it was in August and it doesn't hurt anymore to yawn. :) My jaw has also stopped popping constantly. Tonight, I have a fairly bad headache and am going to bed soon. Have a good night.
