Has anyone found anything that relieves the lump in the throat? I have tried gargling, decongestants, cough drops...nothing seems to work. Also, has anyone had any luck getting rid of the sinus symptoms associated with TMJD? Is surgery the only answer in doing so?

The lump in my throat was caused by knots in my throat muscles. A physical therapist showed me how to stretch the muscles and when I learned to do it properly, it helped tremendously. I find if I don't do the stretches regularly, it begins to come back. That threat keeps me on the program.

I had sinus surgery 5 days ago - the lump in my throat is gone. Now I'll let you know how I'm feeling in a couple weeks. Right now I'm really tired and headachy.
