Hi Tiffany: We got back in the wee hours of the morning today. Thanks for thinking of me. How have you been feeling? I see the TMJ DDS tomorrow. My gums have been bothering me for quite awhile now and I hope to God it's not from wearing a splint. I don't think so b/c I wasn't wearing one when I started having gum pain. When I had my teeth cleaned at the general DDS office in March, they said I had some recession and a couple of Periodontal pockets, but they didn't see any reason for me having so much gum pain. My gums bleed a little bit sometimes and my teeth are very sensitive. I want to see a Periodontist already. The TMJ guy wanted me to wait b/c I'll have my mouth open for so long at the Periodontist's office, but I can't wait much longer. I am also anxious to only have to wear the splint at night. I hope this has been a good week for you. Love you Sis, Sue

Hi Sue:
Sorry to hear you are having problems with your gums. It seems that it's never ending doesn't it? Anyway, let me know what you find out.

Hi Tiffany: I had my splint adjusted today and now I don't have to see him for 2 weeks. My bite is still improving, but not fast enough for my liking!!!! He said the gum pain is probably referred from clenching. I asked him about muscle relaxers and he told me that since I've been taking Xanax to double the dose for 2 weeks to see if it relaxes me more. When I see him again, we'll figure out if I'll be stopping the Xanax and starting something else. I do worry about addiction from Xanax, but he thinks I'd have to be on a high dose to become addicted to it. I hope he's right. I hope you're doing well today. Love you sis, Sue

Hi Sue:
I'm glad to hear that your gum pain was caused by the splint and nothing serious. I so wish I could find a good TMJ specialist and had the finances to afford it. I'm so frustrated and so sick of all this. I just feel like I want to give up totally. When I look out ahead of me all I see is more pain, no money and no help. It's totally depressing.

Hi Sue:
Well, my husband tries to be supportive but he is like most guys. If he can't fix your problem he doesn't want to look at it. And as I try to look all I see is more of the same and it's really getting to me. Thank so much for your support. Love ya Sis,
