What dosage of Flexeril is everyone on and how often do you take it?

I am on 10 mg. of Flexaril and I take it at bedtime and sometimes once in the day if things are really tight.

I take 10 mg. 3 hours prior to bedtime. But I have to wean off of it now. The dentist said if I take it too long I could build up a tolerance to it and then it won't work for me anymore. I have been taking it for about 8 weeks. I cut the pill in half tonight. Hoping it is not too bad stopping it and that my TMJD symptoms don't flare up real bad right away. This is my PMS week coming up to top it off. Probably a bad time to stop it but I only have one bottle left and I want to keep it on hand for bad flare ups.

Has anyone else taken Flexeril for longer than 8 weeks and have to wean off of it? What do you take for pain in place of the flexeril?

I have taken between 5 and 10 mg nightly for the past 2 years. It's a skeletal muscle relaxant..and there aren't many others that have this same mechanism of action. Valium is a powerful muscle relaxant as well... but can be highly addictive - so I try to avoid it. The other thing about Flexeril is that it induces stage 4 sleep (restorative). Elavil has this same property and some use this instead.
