I got my splint on April 29th and I still can't sleep.
Does the pain ever go away after a while - do the splints really help I feel like I am going crazy. I need so relief and knowing that this will go away some day. Please any advice would be helpful at this point.

Your splint should not be hurting you. It could be that it is not adjusted correctly. Call the doctor that made it for you and tell them about the pain you are experiencing. If your pain is not your splint and is your tmj I feel for you. The best thing to do is take it one day at a time. there are also medicine that you can take to make the pain less, but will probably make you drowsy. I am sorry you are in so much pain, I wish we did not come with teh territory.

You have had your splint long enough that it should not be hurting you this severely. You should probably call the dentist who made it and go in to see him. Perhaps your splint needs adjusting.
