Hi Everyone!
Well, today marks my first week with my nueromusclar splint and I feel great!
It has settled right in and so has my mouth. The only symptom I really have is a little tightness in the muscle below my ear, when I get up in the morning, which is gone after being up moving around a bit. A very quiet ring in my ear, not all of the time, do not know at this time what causes it to ring/not to ring.
I do have a difficult time eating with the splint in my mouth. When I am at home, I just leave it in, but when out in public, I am removing it. I have a call into my dentist to make sure that is okay for right now.
I am so pleased and I guess both my dentist and my chiro are extremely pleased as well... they have asked if I would got to luncheons and meetings of other dentists and chiros to show them their success story!! I am sorry, no autographs at this time... :round: http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/clown.gif :round:
Tee hee hee!
Oh, I also had my first chiro adjustment to my jaw area today and that was frightening but it was just great!
I am doing really, really, really well. I can not tell you how good! Yahoo! When the chiro went down my list of all my symptoms.. and they were gone she was just thrilled. I have to say... find a chiro that can adjust the first rib, many of them can not, that is what completely got rid of dizziness and vertigo, shortness of breath, tight chest muscles. And it was immediate!
Okay I am not gabby.
Any questions, just let me know!
Diane

Hi Diane:
Congratulations on your one week anniversary! I'm glad you had such a good week. Very disappointed you're not giving out autographs :( LOL
Thanks for having a tortilla chip for me. I haven't been out to eat in so long. Maybe soon.
I go this Thursday for my second TMJ dental appointment. He'll be taking impressions (perhaps you could explain what's done?) for my splints (day and evening - I guess one is for casual daywear, and the other for those elegant nights on the town :) I've started making out a list of questions for the dentist. I also must be sure to get a complete diagnosis, as he didn't go into it much on my first appointment, apart from saying I didn't have normal range of motion in moving my jaw in one direction. We'll see how patiently he answers all my questions.
Anyway, keep up the good work. I'm glad things are working out for you.
Sending many hugs,
Arleen

Hi Arleen!
Oh thank you! I am just so thrilled with the progress. You had asked me to eat a chip for you and so the very first one had your name on it, and so announced to all at the table... okay, you are now seeing the funny side of me.. Gosh, life is so good and Arleen I so want to see you and everyone on this board feeling good too.
Okay, my impressions for my nuero splint took several hours, I was all hooked up to computers and everything so they could get the most acturate measurements for my orthoic (splint)... in fact I think they took like 8 impressions during the testing. I only have one splint, and I am to wear it 24/7, and I do... okay unless I am out to eat and GenDen gave me a soft gentle warning about not doing that anymore... oops. Okay, this TMJ specialist... did you ask him "how" he is a TMJ specialist? Make sure he has the education behind him. Where did he get his education, what success rate has he had and how many TMJ patients he has had.
I just posted a response to Heather.. title I think is "I'm frustrated". That goes into deep detail about how my dentist did my splint
Arleen, have a good night,
