I know someone that can barely open his mouth! Is this considered TMJ?? Why does no insurance cover TMJ, it's a real problem :(

Kia, the person you mention may have TMJ or it may be something else. I would think that only a competent doctor or dentist can diagnose it.
It is not the case that no insurance companies cover TMJ treatment -- some do (though I think most don't cover the appliance/splint/orthotic). I'm not sure why but I'm looking into it.
