Has anyone out there heard of/or had equilibration?
It is some kind of procedure where they try to fit your teeth together in harmony?

Okay, went out and did a quick search on it. It is called occlusal equilibration. Boy, that is one I have not heard about. I am going to go do some reading on it. The school that teaches the technique is out of Florida. Gotta go read!

Equilibration is grinding the teeth down so that they fit together, hopefully in a harmonous occlusion. Equilibration is only as good as the dentist who is doing the equilibration and what diagnostic procedures were done to establish exactly how and where to grind the teeth down. Once tooth is ground off, it can't be put back. I had it done several years ago with disastrous outcome. Crowns are the only way to restore my teeth back to the way they should be since so much tooth was ground off. Equilibration as a dental procedure is not bad. The problem comes when equilibration is done poorly/incorrectly, or done when it should not be done at all.

Hmmmmmm.....

Well my tmj specialist did a whole diagnostic evaluation of my teeth an jaw. Complete with plaster models of top and bottom teeth and something that looked like a mechanical jaw positioner with the plaster models in it.
It kinda looks like a robots view of my teeth and jaw and how I am biting now and he supposedly evaluated my bad bite , I am touching the back teeth only and 2 back molars are worn down from grinding/clenching, also my front teeth are worn down, wisdom teeth are ground perfectly across from grinding side to side.
His plan is to do the equilibration(he went to school
and is accredited to do this), and then he wants to put crowns on 6 front teeth because they are grinded down,
as I understand it they drill tiny holes so your teeth will fit together properly.
