Okay, are you seeing a nueromuscular dentist? But you know what... even if you were, I couldn't tell you because when they had that thing on my head, I couldn't wear my glasses and I could see a thing! I know that some dentists use a doppler device, but was not used on me. I am sorry, I wish I could be more helpful.
Hope you are having a good night
Diane

Diane,

Thank you for the reply. I AM seeing a neuromuscular dentist. I was just very concerned to see the much higher numbers for the exact same testing session.

I think this may be the testing I had done yesterday. This head device thing went on my head, with electro pads stuck onto my face. The doc would tell me to tap together, bite down, etc, and then measure the muscles somehow. Is this what you had? I did not get a report of my numbers, but I could ask next Friday when I go.

Hi,

I'm glad you're back. How's your Mother doing? Good, I hope. To be honest with you, he's only had this computerized reading done once. I know some numbers were sky high, and I was told that those numbers were related to muscle-tension. He also had the doppler used. Is that what you're referring to? He's supposed to go back on Thursday to have everything re-done, apparently the dentist wasn't satisfied with the outcome the first try. I'll try to find out more then. I'm sorry that I couldn't be of any help.
Have a good night.
Cheryl

Mary and Cheryl,

Thank you so much for the replies. The "listening" device I am referring to is like a pair of headphones that the dentist put on my joints. It may be the doppler thing you spoke of. This is seperate from the muscle test (EMG) that I had done.

Cathleen,

I'm glad that your Mother is doing okay. I'll find out what I can about the 'headphone' type things and what the readings mean on Thursday.
Take Care,
Cheryl
