Does anyone out think that there could be a connection to the swelling of the tmj causing inflamation in the inner ear and causing dizziness? Been searching for an answer for 2 years now.

Oh absolutely Kami. I've read on this board and many other places that tmj causes lots of different inner ear problems and dizziness is one of the most common. Many places consider it vertigo and I agree, I feel dizzy alot and theres no doubt its my tmj. Maybe test yourself by doing some hot compresses or laying on your back on a hard floor. That might sound odd but that helps me alot. You might find it straightens and really relieves tension from your upper and lower back, pelvis, neck, and of course the jaw. If you are really out of alignment and find it painful, you may want to concentrate on doing some deep abdominal breathing. I had my hearing checked at one time and it tested fine but I know I have trouble. From what I've read tmj causes problems with your eustacian tubes. When you swallow its supposed to create a vacuum through your eustacian tubes and mine seem blocked. Hope that helps.
