Hey, went to the TMJ guy last week and he gave me a bottle of this anasthetic spray that he told me to spray on my jaw muscles after heating them up using a moist heat pack. When spraying it on you've got to put ur tongue on ur hard palate by the teeth ridge and stetch ur muscles a little bit. After you spray it on u have to massage the muscles for a little bit then re-apply. It felt really good! Temporary relief though but theres a suggestion for anyone who's looking for another way for pain relief. Has anyone else ever tried this?

Never tried it, but the technique is from Travell and Simons Trigger Point Manual. Always wanted to do it, but never knew from where to get the anesthetic. Thought about using Solarcaine, even. Glad it's working for you. Even temporarily.

Hi Amateurdoc,
Any doc should prescribe the anesthetic for you, just ask! If they don't, though, solarcaine does have the highest percentage of lidocaine in anything OTC (wasn't sure if you were aware of that).
Ladida-
There is never anything wrong with temporary relief! Get what you can, where you can!
Hope you are feeling better,

Jackie
