Hey, board:
I still haven't received quality treatment for my TMJ condition, because Newfoundland has nobody who is really qualified to give treatment. I'm waiting for when I go to Ontario in September.
Anyhow, my doctor prescribed me muscle relaxers, even though I have no pain. I don't grind or clench my teeth, so my jaw muscles are not really that tense. Would it still be a good idea for me take the muscle relaxers?

Its tempting to try anything when you have TMJ. But Ive been on at least 4 muscle relaxers and they really haven't helped me much except to knock me out so I can sleep. If you don't have to try to stay off them as they mess with your body. Some are gentler than others.

I really recommend not going on them if you have no pain. The mucle relaxers when I went on them just made me loopy. I was still grinding my teeth and clenching. And remember the medication will only numb the pain not treat it.
