Hi Heather:
Yes, I got my splint yesterday. I'm telling you what a difference it has made so far. I don't have to wear mine while eating. In fact, he said to wear it only about 12 hours a day but that I should judge and if it seems I need it more then I should wear it more. I am totally amazed, no killer headache today, less ringing in my ears and like you I slept like a rock last night and when I got up this morning my jaw was NOT aching or jammed. He said that I will be in this splint for at least 6 months. I see him again next Friday for an adjustment and he said if need be he will have me wear it more hours. Mine is a bottom splint, clear plastic with two little metal wires with little balls on them, one on each side. He said that he uses this type because they hold up better and work better especially for adults. I was there for 2 1/2 hours yesterday. He is a real perfectionist. I am thanking God for the relief I have found already. I really think I made the right decision on going with this orthodontist.
