That is good that Mike will get the splint on Friday. Things have been busy here the last 2 days too and Mike has been home from work with his back trouble. I have had alot of medical billing work to do so at least he can somewhat keep Emily occupied. My neck and back are sore. (just like your Mike said) It didn't really hurt till yesterday. I am going to the chiro. at 3 pm so hopefully another treatment will help it. I am sure my working is aggravating it too.

Hi Cheryl,
These boards sure are busy aren't they? Especially that neuromuscular post. I hope that didn't bother you too much. I thought of you the minute I read it because Mike is finally getting some good help here from this dentist and I was worried it would put a dampner on your hopes for his recovery. Did he get the splint today? How did everything go? How does he say it feels? Does this one seem any stronger? I sure hope he starts to feel better with this one real soon.
I am feeling okay. I am not sure about this chiropractor thing though. He sure is a little rough for me. And I am a pretty tiny person (on the upper half anyway) and I swear the man is going to break a bone or something. Remember the other day I told you that I could feel my ear draining or opening up right after the treatment? Well today I feel almost like I have an earache and also feels funny on the front of my neck. (no glands are swollen though) I am thinking this is a referred pain from the treatment yesterday. I don't have that deep pain in the back of my neck today though so that is good. So in some ways it seems to be helping but in other ways it seems to be making other areas hurt. Anyway, he is on vacation this upcoming week so I have a week off to see how it goes. I am taking my last 1/2 flexeril on Sunday night and seeing how that goes too. I made an appt. with the masso. therapist that is in the same building for a one hour massage next Friday. I will probably need it by then as this is my busiest billing week and I am teaching vacation bible school all week in the evenings too. Maybe the masso. will make me feel so good that I won't need the chiro. when he gets back. Can you tell I am undecided as usual on what to do? Oh, and the chiro told me yesterday that if I have the masso before he does his treatment they can bill it under his number and my insurance will pay 50% of it. This week I am paying for the masso since he is on vacation.
So, what do you have planned this weekend? Anything fun? We have a church picnic on Sunday and then vacation bible school starts that night. That is about the only thing going on here. Oh, Emily is having another lemonade stand tomorrow with my niece Carly but this time they will be up at my sister's house. So I get a bit of peace and quiet tomorrow.

Well, Emily is doing pretty well with the lemonade business again. I think they have made $6 each again. Enough for one of the beanie babies they collect.
Glad to hear Mike got the splint. How does he feel today? Did you end up at the dentist today for the spot that was rubbing or will it wait till Monday? I still have a good feeling about this splint for Mike. In a few more days I bet he will be feeling really good.
I am glad that the post about neuro muscular dentistry did not discourage you Cheryl. You are absolutely right when you say that what works for one person may not work for another person. We can only try everything we learn about and pray for the best.
I cannot wait till next Friday to get that massage. This is the first time I am ever having one and my sister tells me this girl is pretty good. (I didn't even know she had gone to her already) I feel pretty good today. That strange pain I had in my ear and front of neck has gone away. I am glad for that. I wasn't sure if my ear was infected or what? I am anxious to see now if I can stop the flexeril altogether without that neck pain coming back. It was only 2 visits to the chiro so far, but wouldn't it be great if that was all I needed for now? If I do go back I am going to tell him to be more gentle with me.

Just wondered where you live. You talked about Mike wanting to go to Cedar Point and that is about 40 miles west of me.
I am pretty new to this board. Thought all my problems were from mitral valve prolapse syndrome and anxiety. But just recently I found out that I have TMJ. My dentist is having a splint made and I should be getting it around 8/11. Can't wait.
I am having ear pressure (right ear mostly) and noise in the ear. I also have a lot of neck and shoulder aches. My jaws hurt and I do a lot of clenching. This is really a bummer.
Gee, if you live close to me, maybe you can recommend where to get a massage and maybe a chiropractor. I live in Avon Lake, Ohio.
I have been to a couple of places to get massages. I found someone and I need to talk to her to see if I could come 2 x's per month and if she would give me a discount (I doubt it).
I also do yoga and LOVE it.

It sure is a small world. My husband and I lived in Lakewood the first 3 years we were married, then we moved to Avon Lake and have been here ever since. My kids only know living in Avon Lake.
I have gone to EMH for massages and the last time I went to someone at my mom's and dad's doctors office. She was pretty good. She is the one I am going to see if maybe she will give me a discount. I go to yoga there too. But the yoga teacher has a place in Rocky River. It is on Center Ridge across from Westgate.
I do know where River Oaks is. My grandma and grandpa used to live in Rocky River (again, across from Westgate). So I grew up around there because I used to spend a lot of time at my grandma and grandpa's house when my mom was working.
I see Dr. Hughes in Westlake as a dentist. He is a dentist and an orthodontist. In fact my daughter is going tomorrow to get spacers. The following week we both have appointments. Mine to get my splint (or nightguard) and hers to get her bands on. My son got his braces with Dr. Hughes and he did a great job.

I have heard of Dr. Moodt. I looked him up in my insurance program and he isn't one of our preferred dentists. So I scratched him off the list.
I have been going to Dr. Hughes for between 12-15 years. We started going to him when my son was real young (Greg is 17 now). So I figured I would just give Dr. Hughes a try, especially since he is an orthodontist too. We'll see what he can do.
I should get my splint around 8/11. Maybe before if it comes in and they can squeeze me in.
We cancelled the appointment my daughter (Megan) had today because she has a tooth that just won't come out and we wanted it to come out by itself. So she has her ortho appointment next week instead.
I hope you can get things adjusted for Mike. I feel really bad for him. How old is he? Good luck with getting in touch with the dentist. Let us know what happens.
