I have a pretty weird case of TMJ, but then again, who doesn't. I think I'm one of the few people who doesn't really have any TMJ pain. What bothers me is the insane clicking on both opening and closing (left side only), the decreased range of motion, and the tight muscles in that regeon, the temple regeon and behind the ears. The actual TMJ joint doesn't seem to bother me as much as the area below it. It's the muscle right where the cheek is - very bumpy.

I've gone through 3 different splints and none of them work. Soem TMJ guy I saw was convinced I have a clenching problem when I don't. Granted, the muscles may not be completely relaxed, but there is no clenching involved. I feel like my jaw is out of line a little bit...

When I close my mouth, my back teeth dont touch (and if they do, its so slightly that I don't even notice it). The only teeth that touch are the 4 front teeth (top and bottom). Is that normal?

Are they any stretches I could do to fix this? I'm seeing an oral surgeon in a couple days.. what kind of things should I be asking him?

Thanks.
