View Full Version : Stress causing splint problems?

I've had my splint for about 3 weeks now and for the first couple I had quite a bit of relief from pain but the past week I have been having horrible headaches again. I wonder if it could be from all the stress lately because I find myself waking up and it seems as though I am fighting the splint because my back teeth are clamped down and it feels like I am trying to force myself back into an underbite. Coincidently I also had a chiropractic adjustment about a week ago and wonder if that created some of the problem.

For those of you who go to a chiro, do you get your neck cracked or is the therapy less aggressive?

i dont know what type of splint you have, but maybe it needs to be adjusted. how long has it been since your dentist looked at it? that's my guess anyway :)

stress can really wreck havoc, too.

good luck,

I have an app't on Thurs am and can hardly wait because i think I do need an adjustment.

I have read alot about disc deterioation, arthritis etc and this time I am going to make sure I ask exactly what my discs are like. I know he told be but I forgot.

Kami,
this very same thing is happening to me. I think I need an adjustment again too. I feel like when I am asleep my teeth want to go back to their regular position and I wake up clenching down with my lower jaw back where it used to be. Please tell me what your doc says on Thursday so I can compare. THanks,
Mary
