I had an evaluation yesterday by a cranial therapist/homeopathic doctor. I am going with cranial therapy and homeopathy instead of using a splint and possibly jaw surgery. His theory just makes more sense to me...meaning he looks at the body as a whole, the structure, how everything works together, etc. The TMJ therapist and orthos are only looking at that specific area and fixing that. So you can fix the jaw, but if you don't fix the reason why it got there in the first place, you will continue to have more problems. He is also going to treat me with homeopathy. He said there have been cases where a person's jaw has moved back into place a couple days later after taking the remedy. He is a good friend of my boyfriend so I trust him and lectured around the world on cranial therapy treating TMJ. I have a receding chin/jaw. I had some x-rays done and there has been no damage to the joint. So in my case, my problem is strictly muscular and easier to fix than people with joint and bone degeneration.

Well for the most part peoples case of TMJ is becaue there bite is off or the sudffered some sort of injury to there face or head. I dont know how a foot or arm injury or any other body part could cause TMJD. Also most alternitive medicines dont work that well. Alot of people swear by them but when it comes time to do any sort of research on them the scientific facts prove that basic health and dental care is the better approach. Either way I will try anything to feel better so keep us posted and I hope all goes well. Later

But how did the bite get off? If there was an injury to the face or neck, etc. the lower body has to compensate for that as well. It is all connected. Alternative treatments have been helpful for me in some cases and I know of people who have had great success with it. I just think that Western medicine tends to deal with the symptoms and not the cause.
