My husband and I are thinking about starting a family soon. The big holdup has been my TMJ problems. Because when you're on stuff like Celebrex you shouldnt get pregnant. So I have been using my repositional splint for a month now. And I havent needed to take my Celebrex - or any of my other TMJ drugs - since last Friday! Even my PT was very surprised at how my jaw is doing. So.....if everything continues going so well I am going to stop the BC pills in 3 weeks (end of the pack) and then a month later we'll start trying. With all the health problems I have had, maybe for once trying to get pregnant will actually go smoothly....if I am lucky.
So to summarize - the splint seems to be working which means I am in less pain, taking no drugs, and I can think about trying to get pregnant!!!!

Hi,
Best of luck with your baby-making plans! If it helps any, I've been told that TMJD symptoms diminish when you're pregnant. Something to do with the hormones. I appear to be the exception, but at least I can say that my symptoms haven't gotten any worse! :)
Anyway, I'm due in 3 weeks, and I just wanted to let you know that pregnancy hasn't been as difficult as I would've expected.
Take care.

Thanks for your comments! I figure after TMJ (with 3 surgeries), Fibroids (with 2 surgeries), that pregnancy shouldnt be too bad.
Crystalll: Can you take any TMJ drugs while pregnant? I read somewhere that Flexerill is okay?
