Hi<
Has anyone tried an upper cervical Chiropractor? I have booked an appointment with one for Wed afternoon. From what I have gathered on the net, these chiropractors only deal in the C-1 area and the treatment is supposed to be very gentle. I went to a regular chiro about a week and a half ago and she insisted that I get my neck cracked. After that session I felt so disoreinted and had alot of pain until I had my tens and splint adjusted last Thurs. Now I know I can't tolerate regular chiro adjustments.
Thanks in advance for any info!

Grace,
I went to a chiro for a couple of years, several years ago. I was not out of alignment (that was a surprize),but my posture was not great. He did some minor adjustments and cracked my neck. It was scary. They did some tens and ultra-sound on one shoulder that was hurting. He did not touch my face, due to previous surgeries. He did try accupuncture on my face, but knew after the second time, it was not working for me. He was incredibly honest.
I came away with the best posture I've ever had and later he started reffering TMJD patients to my Massage Therapist for face and related neck problems.
Theraputic Massage worked much better for a lot of the problems we have. (For me anyway)
