Hi all,
Just wondering if I have TMJ.... I have a long history and feel like such a hypochondriac that i don't know where to turn. Briefly.... I had sever accident 4 yrs ago skiing where I fractured 9 ribs and my arm and shoulder. I have a bad whiplash problem and back aches etc and am having physical Tx for same. i was told by my dentist that I grind my teeth badly and she gave me a guard to wear at night. I don't wear the mouth thing as it is uncomfortable. I suffer from severe migraine headachea and chronic daily headaches which stem from my neck I think. the headaches are making my life a misery. I notice that my jaws and face is very tight and I try to stretch it when I think of it. I have face ache esp when I wake up, am tense and after chewing vigorously, or even smiling for photos at my wedding!!! i am at my wits end with all my probs esp back, neck headaches and jaws. do you think it is TMJ?? Can it flare up after accident?? A cranial sacral tx told me that migraine whiplash and TMJ is linked. If so what can I do??
Thanx for listening

Hi & welcome to the board Leezb
First of, you say your doc linked your whiplash to your tmj right? Then why doesn't your doctor give you the advice of seeking a tmj specialist?
My advice to you would be, seek a second opinion...
Yes, your tmj can be linked to you accident
What country are you in?
