I had surgery 1wk and 2 days ago on my right side. I was scheduled for arthroplasty bilateral but had one side done>>Ya!!!I had a disc dislocated anteriorly causing my mouth to only open 1 in. My jaw was locked. Ouch was it painful. The disc was sutured back onto the joint and my joint was filed and smoothed so my jaw moment was be a bit more smoother itself. My left side was slightly dislocated but not locked so he did not want to go in if not necessary. I am doing my exercises. But when the right side is fixed, I am worried about the left. Thanks for the message. Sorry yours is giving you grief again...I have a small scar about 3in curving along my ear line. I was in the hospital over night and sent home the next day. Isn't that the truth about turning your jaw a certain way and the spasms start. It takes me to the floor sometimes because it hurts. I am chewing soft foods for a while. I do miss gum! It is a beautiful day!

Hi hope I hope you feel better soon. I too am going to have arthroplasty done on my left tmj. My disk has been locked for 4 months, im scheduled to have it done in October. I was wondering if you can tell me how you feel post-op. Did you have alot of swelling and bruising? What did they replace your disk with, my doctor want to use fat graphs from my stomach in place of the disk, is that the same kind og surgery you had. How long was the operation and why did they decide to keep you in over night, do they expect complications. Sorry about all the question but Im anxious about the surgery and just wan to know what to expect afterwards, please let me know all you can, Thanks Kaamom
