Greetings everyone,
I dont know really when this started, not like it has anything to do with curing it, but basically everytime i chew on something, the right side of my jaw cracks, like cracking your knuckles. Whenever i bite on harder things to chew, such as steak :P, it makes a louder crack and smaller cracks for soft things. Please help, and would u guys recommend seeing a doctor or chiropractor in this situation?
Thanx a lot, Kev

Hi Kev,
I would suggest you see a dentist who is qualified to treat TMJ, and get the appropriate X-rays and testing done to either confirm or deny a diagnosis of TMJ.

HI kev,
I also suggest you visit someone who can specialize in TMJ. I would definately make an apt. soon because those cracking noises can get painful and irritating. let me know how it goes. My jaw cracked and clicked for a long time. I understand

Ditto for what everyone else said. Seeing a maxillofacial specialist is probably the best thing for you to do. The cracking will not stop. It will only get worse if you let it. Sorry. Have your dentist refer you to someone. Best of luck :-)

For those of you with cracking/crackling noises in your jaw...
can you please post what your tmj specialists have said to explain these noises? I have tapping noises when I run but my specialist said there is nothing to worry about and running won't aggravate my jaw as long as I don't overdue it. However my PT wants me to stay away completely as jaw noises= bad.
