Dear Group,

Just wondering what the difference is between acupuncture and TENS used by neuro dentists. I am going Thursday for my fitting, and I'm nervous about the TENS due to my tinnitus.

I understand that acupuncture can increase tinnitus severely in some people, and I'm wondering if TENS is similar since it also involves electrical stimulation.

Thanks,

Looney

Looney, good luck on Thursday! I hope that in the end the splint will help you so much your ears will improve. I know what it's like to have tinnitus, and greatly sympathize. Be sure to be very nice to yourself after you appointment, cushion yourself in quietness, and relax as much as possible.

Good luck!

Looney,

My Son uses a tens unit at home. He has awful head pain, as well as tinnitus. It temporarily reduces his head pain, doesn't touch the tinnitus....but makes it NO worse. I know we'll all different. This is only his experience with it. Good Luck.
Cheryl
