Hi all, just wanted to post and say I am still "hanging in there" and trying to fight this beast called TMJ! I am still taking the vicoprophen for pain and using ultram to try to prolong the effects as it is wearing off much faster now..argg! But sometimes I switch that around and try the ultram first and then the vicoprophen if all else fails! I am getting trigger point massage...had my second apt yesterday! Also had a shot (Depo Medrol) of cortizone/steroid for inflamation...they gave it to me in my arm, not in my jaw as I had feared! I was also given a handful of Vioxx samples by my doctor and am taking one everyday...hopefully he will be generous and give me more when they are gone as I absolutely cannot afford them at the pharmacy!

I canceled my apt with my TMJ dentist and told them I would not make another apt...I just couldn't deal with the guys attitude, so I am just going to see my regular dentist for now. I am still wearing the splint that fits over my bottom teeth and will seek another TMJ dentist if and when the time comes to have another one made! I haven't really noticed much difference with the splint, but it is protecting my teeth from grinding so that is a good thing!

I am hoping that sooner or later something I am doing will make a difference and I can get back to normal!
