Howdy all, I'm lookin for some answers.
First off, I moved into this new apartment, a few weeks in, I started feeling like I wasn't emptying out and had a "dripping" problem.(yes, I felt like a leaky faucet) I went to an urgent care doctor, who did the whole rectal exam thing and he said it felt a bit swolen. My urine, at first test yielded no bacterial problems so the conclusion was prostititus. I was prescribed some antibiotics, and was told to wait several days for it to clear up. The antibiotics seemed to work, and I used them up. However, a few weeks later it came back to bother me again, and is still. I saw a Urologist who said it probably just didn't completly clear up the first time around, and we did the rectal exam again, this time the prostate is fine and I'm on a larger amount of prescribed antibiotics. However, a couple things bother me, I still have a sensation of not emptying and a dripping problem even though the urologists' nurse said my blatter was empty with an ultrasound. Also, the urologist told me it's very hard to tell the difference between a normal prostate or a swolen one, unless of course its benign or something, and that prostititus is just an implied answer to my problem. This 'leaky faucet' problem seems to be accompanied by the runs too.
Anybody have a similar experience? I'm afraid this problem is going to come back when I'm done using antibiotics.

1)Did they culture your urine the second time round? Might be worth doing again
2)In women, its certainly possible to get a sort of phantom cystitis - ie it feels like you have a problem but there ain't. It usually happens after a few episodes of real cystitis.
That's the best I can do for the moment.
