For years now I have had cravings for drinks-water and
soda especially and have had to urinate freqeuntly.
I can go for two hours without a bathroom visit.....
but recently it seems like it has increased both the thirst and the bathroom visits. I did have a blood test recently which showed that the sugar was a little high but borderline, Could this be diabetes setting in?

Sounds awfully suspicious to me. What about a glucose tolerance test? Can you load a blood sugar monitor and do a few more tests - not just a once off. Are you overweight? Do you exercise? Are you losing or gaining weight at the moment? Has your urine been tested for sugar?

So many questions so little time..... :-)

Sounds like the beginning of diabetes, but ask your doctor. It's too serious to rely on the chatboard. Research diabetes on the net in the mean time. You should do all the diabetes control measures too, like lose weight if you need to, cut sugar and starch from your diet, and exercise.

UASE I WORK IN A LAB, I HAVE THE STRIPS AND NO, THE SUGAR HAS NOT YET SPILLED OVER INTO THE URINE, I AM
OVERWEIGHT BY AT LEAST 50-60 POUNDS AND I HAVE A GLUCOMETER WHICH I AM KEEPING TRACK OF THE SUGAR LEVEL
THAT WAY. BUT I BELIEVE I STATED THAT THIS HAS GONE ON
FOR A FEW YEARS. I CAN ONLY HOLD THE URINE FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS. I HAD A 24 HOUR URINE DONE OVER A YEAR AGO AND THERE WAS A VOLUME OF 1800-200O CC'S IN JUST A 24 HOUR PERIOD. MEANWHILE, THE DOCTOR IS GOING TO WATCH IT. THE TRIGLYCERIDES ARE ELEVATED AND HAVE BEEN FOR A FEW YEARS ALONG WITH THE CHOLESTEROL, AND THERE IS A FAMILY HISTORY OF DIABETES IN MY NATURAL FAMILY-PATERNAL GRANDMOTHER, THIS IS WHY IT SCARES ME A LITTLE. I AM GOING FOR SMOKING CESSATION PROGRAM AND
THE DOCTOR ADVISED THAT THE NUTRITIONIST WAS DONE THE HALL AND TO SEE HER FOR HELP WITH WEIGHT LOSS AND DIET
CHANGES- BACK TO THE NO FLAVOR THING AND AWFUL TASTING
SODAS.
