Hi,

Had the TUNA procedure done on Monday. (Vida-Med's recent alternative to the "gold standard", TURP. It is performed on an out-patient basis, and promises good relief with few side effects. Doc says don't expect the promised improvement for 10 - 12 weeks! Mine was done in a local hospital under general anesthesia - didn't feel a thing. The aftermath has been less than pleasant ... on a catheter/bag for 3 days ... and still unable to void normally. So I have to self-catheterize in order to urinate ... according to doc, this often occurs, but not always. Some (lucky) chaps can urinate right off. Read all you can, talk to a couple of urologists about your particular condition. It isn't for everyone. If you want to talk more, feel free to email me at eli_fx@yahoo.com.
