Personally I would like to take a multivitamin with breakfast, but I drink orange juice at breakfast and I heard that the acid in the orange juice destroys the vitamins in the pill. Is that true or is it just a myth? I also heard that heat destroys certain vitamins, and I drink tea or coffee every morning too. Has anyone else ever heard of that? I appreciate your responses, thanks!

Hi,
I have taken vitamins for many years. OJ contains citric acid and it does not affect vitamins and some minerals need acid to help the absorption. Heat and light destroy some vitamins --that why they are put in brown bottles to filter light--with heat you just shouldn't store in hot places like around stoves and in cars in the summer time. The hot drinks that you can stand will not affect vitamins. Just store them in a dry place -at room temperature. :)
