Have any of you ever taken Chromium Picolinate as a supplement? If so, what effects did you have from it, either good or bad?

I know of a number of people who take it because it is supposed to help pump up your metabolism.
One or two people complained that it increased body odor.

I take it to help metabolism of glucose. I usually just take 200mcgms daily. It is needed in the synthesis of fats, protiens and cholesterol. People that are very physically active such as the athelic types and eat more carbs need more chromium than regular people.People that develop diabetes have a low level of chromium in there bodies.Diabetics should only take it by doctors directions.
Excess intake can lead to chromium toxicity and is linked to ulcers, kidney and liver impairment, and skin problems. A deficiency can cause fatigue, anxiety, glucose intolerance, poor metabolism of amino-acids, and can up the risk of hardening of the arteries.
It has been estimated that only 10% of the people in the US get enough chromium in their diet but it is needed.
Side-Effects: Some people that take it do experience lightheadedness and skin rashes. If you do of course stop taking it and consult your doctor.
