I have to find a prtien shake that isn't WAY too expensive andf something very high in protien and very low in sugars like 3 grams or less. If you know of any please let me know. Thanks!

My favorite Ready To Drink low carb shake is the EAS shakes. 3g carbs, 17 oz, 180 calories. Compare prices online. If you want an inexpensive "make your own" protein shake, try this.... you can get jugs of protein relatively inexpensively (3 lb, 20$, 5lb for 30) - get one that is vanilla flavored and is low or zero carb. Here is the shake recipe:

2 scoops protein powder (40g)
1 1/2 c. coffee, cold
1 packet artificial sweetener (I like Splenda)

I dump it all into an empty 16oz water bottle with a funnel and shake vigorously. The protein dissolves well in the cold coffee. It tastes like a Frapuccino. For a summer smoothee... add about 5 to 10 ice cubes and throw it in a blender.

my favorite protien drink would be

banana, ice cream, milk, and chocolate protien powder blended in a blender. it is good and great for you. Use you blender and some of you favorite fruits.
usually works.

Isopure rocks!

designer protein is also rather good.

EAS products are really good, thick like a milkshake.

Or just get some plain protein powder of your choice, and get some sugar free jello pudding packets (I like pistachio) and blend it together. Tastes better with milk, and a little fat free/sugar free yogurt, but if you are watching carbs strictly then you can use water.

Optimum Nutrition gives you the most bang for the buck, and it tastes good. EAS is always good, if you like giving them extra cash for their name.

I got a tub of the labrada mix when it was on sale (strawberry) and it makes my GNC whey taste like gravel. Ok, well... GNC will always taste like gravel, so maybe that's not the comparison you were looking for.

Labrada is good tasting. Prolab's ion exchange is good tasting as well, but you pay extra for it.

Generally, it's hard to find a good tasting protein drink that's low carb and low priced. If the protein source doesn't matter and you're not allergic, why not drink an extra amount of milk every day?

My particular brand of whey protein tastes literally like a vanilla milkshake, but it is fresh from production out of Wisconsin. It is expensive. You just can't get that on the shelf products. Prolab Ion-exchange is pretty close to that.

To date I've tried 4 different Protein powders and I have to say that my favorite is Triple Whey by Twinlab. It's not that expensive and one scoop only needs 2 ounces of water to mix. It mixes better than any of the others I've tried and tastes better as well. I used to mix my Proteins with milk because it tasted better so this was a good way to use milk and not have to add a ton of it which saves on calories.

I've tried Human Development chocolate shakes and they were suprisingly good.

However my best recommendation is to add a banana, wait until it's brown on the outside but not rotten. That's when the flavor is most prevelant. Add some vanilla and some cinnamon. It eases the grittiness of the shakes and adds a lot of flavor.

And I agree, Isopure is great!

I got the Myoplex Chocolate Lovers Pack which comes with 4 different types of chocolate shakes and i mix it with either coffee, milk, water, and vanilla. It is thick and you feel really satisfied after.

I find that :

Proteins+ by EHN Products

is a very good tasting protein shake.
It mixes awesome too, even with a spoon, no lumpyness.

Another thing to try is get some unflavored whey protein and put in a mixer with some diet soda. Diet rite orange, or store brand or whatever, tastes good. I just tried this out a couple of days ago, not bad at all..

another thing you can do with unflavored, is add in some sugar free jello pudding mix, about 1/4 of a packet, or so....mix it up with some milk, or water, and let it chill for a couple of minutes in the fridge to thicken it up. The pistachio rocks!

please note that recent research has found that protein by itself isn't absorbed very well by the body, and is hard to break down since insulin isn't used for it. a 4:1 carb :protien mix is the best for recovery and absorption. this will also save your organs from difficult protein breakdown.

Body FX by suddenly slim is great! You just put it in a blender with water and ice. I do this for breakfast and lunch and have a tuna salad or scrambled eggs with onion and mushroom for dinner. I have lost a total of 8 pounds in 12 days and I am also drinking tons of water during the day.
I like the taste of the shake also. (I like the vanilla).
Good luck to you.

Forgot to tell you that I also drink coffee. I put coffeemate and equal sweetener in it. And I drink Diet rite, or crystal lite during the day (I gotta have my coffee) Forgot also to say that the Shake by suddenly slim is a part of a program. I did not do the program though, just the shake.
I dont want people to think I am selling anything cause I'm not. I bought it at the Tanning salon and I have no idea where else you can buy it. The girls at the tanning salon who work there lost 18 pounds since Feb. and the other lost 12. The one girl who lost 18 originally has continued to lose a total of 31 pounds and she eats and she feels good. I am a skeptic because I have tried every product imaginable and am not interested in many products. I have tried alot that claimed to be good and was nothing but a scam. I was reluctant to try the shake, but I am glad that I did. I just hope that it stays off. I am a yo yo. This seemed to be the initial kick I needed to lose the weight. I think that I will now have the will power it takes to keep it coming off. I have a heck of a time with loosing the weight and staying healthy. bye again and good luck to you
