Hey all things, I've read some of your postings about amino acids and I have a question. I had posted earlier on this board about amino acids, and got a respnse from AuntJudyG. She told me about the book "The Diet Cure". I think I read on another posting where you also recommended that book to someone. I bought the book, and haven't gotten very far into it, but I plan on finishing it this weekend. My question: How often do you take amino acids, and how many do you take at a time? I bought Amino Fuel by TwinLab at Wal-Mart. Do you know anything about that particular product? Thanks so much for any info. You seem to know a lot about amino acids. That's why I directed this to you. If anyone else out there would like to share some info, it will be appreciated also! Thanks, Beth Ann :)

Everything I know about amino acids I learned first from Maureen Salaman years ago, then Julia Ross and her partener Dr. Ken Blum in about 1997. I tried what was suggested and have done exceedingly well, as has my daughter (for other conditions). I like the Twin Lab brand. I trust them, and buy their products often. For a complete amino acid complex, just look on the label and make sure they are all there. I made a mistake once and brought home one that looked complete, but was only a blend of 3 specific ones for gaining muscle. Anyway, I follow the chart near the middle of "The Diet Cure". It gives all kinds of conditions, such as overeating, smoking, drinking, even marijuana use, and what she recommends to try. I love this book. I go back through it all the time. For weight loss and cravings, I take L-Glutamine 1000mg, DL-PA 1000mg, and L-Tyrosine 1000mg. before meals. For relaxation I take GABA at bedtime, and haven't had insomnia for a long time. 5-HTP is also super. :)
