I was just wondering what is the purpose of taking flaxseed oil? What role does it play in weight loss, if any? What are the benefits of it? Thanks.

Flaxseed oil is one of the healthiest supplements one can take. It is rich in Omega 3 esential fatty acids. It is almost absent in the modern diet , as Omega 3's are destroyed by cooking. Flax oil is an antioxidant, anti-cancer, digestive aid, relieves eczema, etc. It is best taken from refrigerated bottles found at your health food store. The pill form loses the Omega 3 content from room temperature storage. One tablespoon a day is the recommended dosage.

Would you get the same results if you just east the seeds? Would you need to take more to show results with weightloss? (of course I'd be excerising and eating properly).

I've been trying to diet and exercise, but it's SO HARD! I think when school starts it will be much easier because I dont think about food and I get some exercise... Would 1 tablespoon show results in weightloss and over all health for a 15 year old male?

Also, what's it taste like?

This may be coincidence, but when I started taking flaxseed oil, my bottom number of my blood pressure reading dropped from around low 80's to low 70's (consistently at home - it still goes up at the doctor office). The bottle label says (and my doctor suggested it) that it can help regulate blood pressure. My BP has a tendency to be borderline.
