Hi All:

Has anyone experienced disturbed sleep while using L-glutamine supplements (GNC brand)? Couple of weeks ago I started taking glutamine during the day (750 mg capsule) which made me very sleepy so I switched taking it before bed time on an empty stomach, hoping that it would also improve the quality of my sleep. To my surprise, all I got was twilight zone sleep and nightmares. I woke up very tired in the morning as if I have not hit the deep sleep stage that night. I gave it a chance couple more times just to get the same outcome. Now I completely stopped taking L-glutamine. Has anyone experienced soemthing similar with L-glutamine supplements?

No, I've had only good results. No daytime sleepiness and no sleep disturbance. Sorry you're having problems with it. Does your brand have additives in it? Just a thought. I've never used GNC brand.

I have used 2 bottles of the gnc brand, and I have never had any of those effects.

Thanks for the replies. I suppose L-glutamine alters my brain chemicals related to sleep. My sleep has always been very sensitive anyways.
