Hello All!
Have been hearing some interesting things about coral calcium. Has anyone here tried it yet and if so have you noticed a difference between it and other calcium supplements, especially with energy levels?
:)Thanks, mslily

I just recently saw a paid program the other morning with Dr. Robert Barefoot and coral calcium. Was very interested in it. Then I went to the internet and also found where it's a scam. So I'd be curious also, if there's any truth to this coral calcium.

One thing my mom found out about any Calcium pills is that some take to long to disolve in your stomach, and don't get absorbed. to check place a calcium pill in a small glass of viniger, if it takes longer than 15-20 to break down your wasting your money.

I've now been taking coral calcium for about 6 weeks, I'd say. I use the Robert Barefoot formulation. To allay the concern of one other poster, it comes in capsules with powder inside, so there isn't a concern with it not disolving. Coral Calcium is not just calcium. It contains 70+ trace minerals and elements. I read a book about it called "The Calcium Factor" The barefoot formula also contains other vitamins and minerals including C and D-3. Vitamin D is essential for the body to absorb calcium.
I have multiple sclerosis and am hoping that the coral calcium will help. I think at the very least it will help with my health in general. After 6 weeks, one of my MS symptoms, constipation, has improved significantly. Unfortunately, MS symptoms can vary, from hour to hour, day to day, week to week, etc, so it is very hard to know if any treatment I undertake is what is affecting change.
I would advise reading about coral calcium before using it. The book I read was informative and a fairly fast and easy read.

dietgirl,
You said you couldn't get out of bed. Can you elaborate on that? do you have some condition that has weakened you to the point that you couldn't even get out of bed? How about this other woman who couldn't make it to church? I have Multiple Sclerosis and have now been taking coral calcium for over 2 months and haven't really noticed much change. I have a hard time getting out of bed, because my legs are so weak, that I need crutches to walk around. I purchased enough coral calcium to last 4 months. If I don't see any positive effects in that time I likely won't purchase any more.

I've been taking Coral Calcium for nearly two months. Initially, I was skeptical of the claims that it is nearly 100% absorbable, but after two weeks on it, I saw definite signs that led me to believe that my body was in fact absorbing it. For instance, I have been taking a good calcium supplement (calcium citrate) for years, but after two weeks of coral calcium, my finger nails were growing like weeds, and for the first time in many years, they were hard instead of flimsy. I do not KNOW if calcium intake is supposed to be related to nail growth and firmness, but I imagine there is a direct correlation. After two more weeks, one of my tonails (on a little toe) which had for years been just a shrivled up little nub had grown into a real toenail again. Also, I have had a definite split at the end of one of my thumb nails which has been there for years, never growing together. The split is now still visible on the underneat side of the nail, but it is SOLID and firm on the topside.
Another GREAT benefit (which I will attribute to coral calcium) is that I no longer get severe heartburn after every meal I eat. This has been extremely freeing.
I feel that these noticeable benefits are likely only the tip of the iceberg, as far as what a truly absorbable form of calcium is doing inside my body.

 Hi! Meant to get back in here sooner but had some stuff come up that kept me away. I just wanted to thank you all for sharing your info on the coral calcium, I really appreciate it. Haven't decided yet on whether or not to take the plunge and try it, but if I do I will definately let you all know the results. Thanks again!

I just ordered it off of TV with Dr Barefoot himself sitting there with another couple (interviewers)
I hope this works, I am 19 years old without any health problems of course but I would like to prevent many things from ever happening by starting early on my health. etc etc
I just have mild acne.
Anyone else taking these?

How would one know if it works if they don't have any problems? And how would you know if it's preventing anything? Just curious.

Well, insignificant things such as acne or getting better sleep...also kids take vitamins and they don't have anything physically wrong.

If you have a good health food store check there before ordering Dr. Barefoot's. There's a great store in South Oklahoma City, and it had 5 or 6 brands of coral calcium, some with other vitamins, some without, some in powder form, etc, etc. ALL were less expensive than the infomercials. Go to a good health food store with experienced people so you can ask questions. Many mall stores are staffed by minimum wage people who only know the basics.

Hi, I have been reading all the posts. Thought I'd tell you of my experience.
I have Diabetes ll.
My aunt sent me the little packets of coral calcium, that you put in your drinking water. I've been using it for about a year. Then she sent me something else called metagreens. I started taking that also, two weeks before I was to go for a blood test.
Well, I got my blood tests back and my tests went from 9.1 to 6.1, which my doctor said is right where he wants it. Also, every other thing they tested for was down, including bad cholestoral.
He said, whatever you're doing, keep doing it. but I'd gain a lot of weight. So, I checked into the new Diabetic pill he had me taking and saw that it makes you gain weight, among other things, rapidly. So, three and a half weeks ago, I stopped taking that pill (I still take one other one) and check my blood sugar several times a day. It hasn't changed! It's still as low as when I took the pill.
So, I don't know if it's the coral calcium or the metagreens, but I'm going to keep taking them both.
The blood tests I had before taking the metagreens, things were improving, but a lot slower. My blood sugar used to be over 300, now it stays between 80-124.

I have been taking OSCAL 500mg + D which is oystershell calcium and it has basically alleviated almost 90 percent of my PMS symptoms (anxiety, depression, moodiness) and has helped me take off weight. I take 1000 mg per day supplement and get extra calcium in some of the foods I eat.
