Hi everyone, I was wondering what should I take for healthier hair and skin....I do not know what is happening but I used to have good hair and it seems to be thinner now and not growing as fast as it used to. I am only 27, So It isn't because I am getting old (at least I hope not!!)I don't know if it is my diet or what. I appreciate any help!!

I would recommend a product called Vivida or Imedeen, which I believe you can order over the internet. They are proven to increase dermal thickness and improve appearance of photo-aged skin and wrinkles. They are based on a special extract taken from fish.
You might try a product called BioSil by Jarrow Formulas. They are liquid drops providing a special form of the mineral Silicon which plays an essential role in the skin and hair. The product has proven some effectiveness.
Borage oil, flax oil and fish oil. Take a capsule of each per day along with Vitamin E, and you should be blown away by noticebly better skin.
Pycnogenol has proven some efficacy. So imagine Grape Seed extract would also benefit since active compounds are very similar
Vitamin E (natural form) is recommended.
Extracts of the spice turmeric overs a variety of benefits and has shown to prevent/fight skin cancer.
Green tea offers specific proven benefits for the skin and the hair. Drink it daily and you will see results soon.
The herb Gotu Kola has a specific action to restore collagen and accelerate healing of tissue. It is quite safe and not too expensive. Also helps anxiety and may improve memory and concentration.
Other vitamins are good, like Vitamin A, but I personally like to get them from food.
Good Luck. Ramsey

You shouldn't take only one isolated vitamin or mineral to help with your problem. Vitamins and minerals work together synergistically so a high potency multivitamin/mineral formula would be the best. One that I like and personally use is called Added Protection III bye the company AMNI. Just make sure you get a multi that has good amounts of biotin...atleast 300 mcg and zinc 15-30 mg. These are crucial for hair health. With this multi, make sure you eat plenty of essential fatty acids like flax seeds, flax oil, nuts and grains and fish like salmon and sardines. You can also buy fish oil capsules or a product called Udo's Choice Ultimate Oil Blend which contains balanced EFA's. Good luck!

Diet has a HUGE role in everything that goes on in your body. There's a vitamin called, Hair, Skin, & Nails that Nutrilite (I hope I can say this on the board) has and you can look them up on the web to get info. I can tell you that it is an all natural vitamin and will NOT hurt you in anyway. Check it out!

Biotin. It's in every hair, skin, nails product and you can buy it cheaper by itself...vitamin stores or GNC have it.

I have been using imedeen for 3 months and it is honestly the best thing I have ever done for my skin. I take two tablets a day with no side effects except for wonderfully smoother skin. My skin is even retaining so much more moisture in it since I began using Imedeen. The results took about a little over a month before I began noticing the skin all over my body as well as my face becoming more hydrated and I swear my pore size even shrunk! I love it and will never stop taking it! I buy it from my dermatology office for $180.00 for a 3 month supply. It is sooooooo worth it!!!!! My mom just started taking it as well because she has noticed my skin looking younger and more refreshed. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't try it for myself. I could go on and on about this product-it is so great! I'm a customer for life!
