I am a 24 year old health male. I am wondering what vitamin I should be talking. Right now I am taking C (500mg), E 400(IU), Coral Calcium 500 (mg), Magnesium (400mg), and a multivitamin (one source). In addition I rotate an herbal supplement such as Echinacea, Milk Thistle, and Ginko Baloba about every two weeks. Does this sound like too much? If not is there something that I am missing.
Thanks, ckid

You shouldn't be taking calcium without vitamin D, 1000 mg, and you should also add 1 mg of Folic acid. Your C should be upwards of 1000mg.

I disagree. A healthy 24 year old male doesn't really need 1000 mg. of calcium. I feel we all go a little (lot) overboard with vitamin therapy, which can make our own system lazy. Our bodies are designed to function on their own, unless their is illness or disease. My feeling is that vitamins work best when used to "tweak" our own system into optimal functioning.

I'd ask your doctor what he recommends for you to take. I take Centrum which has all the minerals and vitamins plus the Lutein for the eyes. But, I'm also older than you so you may not need as many minerals. You could also check with your pharmacist for advise. They are always glad to help.
