Hi everyone, I've been taking flax oil for about 2 weeks now. Suddenly, I began to be unable to stay asleep, and I wake up after only a few hours feeling fully mentally awake. At night, it's like my mind is just completely unable to turn off, and creates all kinds of crazy thoughts at a million miles. I stopped taking flax oil after the first day, and I still have this. Has anyone had this happen before with flax, omega 3's, or fish oil?? Also, could it be that I'm having this because I stopped taking it??? Thanks so much for any info anyone has...

I wouldn't think flax oil or fish oil would cause this. I have been taking flax oil for a couple of years and haven't noticed anything different, maybe a little more energy. Have you been under stress lately, or worrying about anything? Or have you made any other changes to your lifestyle, i.e., started exercising for example?

No, nothing like that. That's what has been so strange about it. The only thing I could think to link it to was the flax oil.

i read that it's common for this to happen from oil if taken later in the day. in order to sleep well, the oil should be consumed before 8:00PM. i don't know about the effects extending for more than a few hours-- it is only oil.
