I'm starting to use Flaxseed Meal for high cholesterol and menopausal symptoms. Does anyone have any interesting ways to use it? Or recipes?

So far I've found that I can sprinkle it on my toast and then spread peanut butter on it.

Any other creative ideas or food items to add (how much?) flaxseed to???

Thanks!!

Good 4 u ! I've been using Flaxseed meal for 3+ years now. I put it in any smoothie I make. I stir it in my cooked oatmeal. I sprinkle it over my morning cereal. I love the taste & the health part. I buy it @ Trader Joe's, & it's very cheap! Hope this helps!

Two tablespoons ground mixed with lemonade make a great drink.

Those are great! Has anyone used Flaxseed while making muffins or breads?
I even sprinkled a little on a hotdog believe it or not!

I put the seeds on everything! In my yogart in the morning, on my salads, in my protein shakes or smoothies, in mixed fruit. You can sprinkle them over just about anything and everything. I hope you aren't trying to get your daily dose from the seeds! If so, you will never reach your daily allowance. I take the Flax oil daily, usually in the morning, after breakfast. It's best if you have something to chase it down w/, until you get used to the flavor. Never stop taking your flax, it's the best thing out there!

Thanks, I can see where you can add them to just about anything - the taste is really o.k!
I've been working towards 2 Tab. of the flaxseed meal a day (From Dr. Phil's show on "Peri-Zappers) but wondered how much of the oil you take each day.
Is the cost comparative to the meal form?
Thanks again everyone - I'm determined to get thru this with as much good grace as possible!
