A balanced diet and less junk food will go a long ways in helping your skin, nails and hair.
A balanced diet is best for all around health too. Exercise is very beneficial for all aspects of health.

Recently I've done a lot of research on hair vitamins because I want my hair to grow faster and healthier. I've been taking - Hair, Skin, and Nail Formula that I got from a vitamin store. But the vitamin Biotin is supposed to be very good for you hair, and so is the vitamin B-6. I read somewhere that Zinc may also be good. Also the herb Horsetail is supposed to be good! Hope this helps!!

Hello, have you had your doctor check your thyroid function? I would do that before starting on vitamin therapy.

Definitely have your thyroid checked out like Salvatore said. A thyroid that is not functioning correctly can cause many problems (dry skin, dry hair, stunted growth, and fatigue are some starters), but the condition can become very serious. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check out the Thyroid Disorder message board and have your parent or guardian get tests done. Tell the doctor that you need the Free T3, Free T4, and a TSH test done. The doctor will know what you are talking about.
When I was 17, my parents took me to see the doctor because of the same symptoms you described, and because I had stopped growing years before that. Turns out I have an underactive thyroid, and because it was left untreated for so many years, I am now a 24 year old that looks 14  . No matter what people say, looking 14 at my age is not a blessing. It is a pain.
Anyway, I hope everything goes well for you!
