Hey, guys, this has probably been addressed before, but since I was not familiar or interested in this, didn't pay attention or remember (cause I'm old and have crs disease). Does anyone know anything about carb cutters. A friend just told me about them, she is on ww and says that if you eat carbs, you can take these.
Also, a friend brought me a bag of sugar free candy to church this morning and I am going to research, but ingredients show maltitol-sugar alcohol, chocolate liquor in the chocolate ones, and hydrogenated soybean oil.(I am pretty sure we can't have that cause i think Hunter said that's why we can't have margarine). Does anyone know anything about any of this. My hubby got upset with me when I told him I didn't think we could have them, he is one of those who thinks if it is sugar free, it is okay. I told him I am the one who has been reading, searching and listening to you guys for the last two months. I don't want to have anything we can't.

"Carb-cutters" usually refers to phaseolamine, a substance extracted from white beans that prevents the cleavage of starches and thus it's digestion and absortion. They are somewhat effective BUT are totally ineffective against sugars like sucrose, lactose, glucose, fructose, so no aid for sweets but they'll help with pasta.
Maltitol, hydrogenated soybean oil....double whammy, trans fat's from the oil will mangle your blood lipids and diarrhea from the Maltitol...give the candies a wide berth!
