new guy here.
I started dieting and walking in January of 2002. At the time I weighed around 300 lbs. Now I weigh about 230 lbs. And yesterday I went and bought some weight lifting equipment. (flat bench, curl bar w/ weights, dumbbell)
If I can do it anyone can do it. I look forward to reading all of your posts on this board. :-)

Nope I didn't take any diet pills. I would walk on the bike trail down the road from me about 30-50 minutes almost every day. All I did was cut out the junk food and drink alot of water.
When i started my new job back in July I weighed around 245. I got off my rountine for a few months. I drank regular pop, got drunk often lol, ate more, etc.
I still walked on the treadmill frequently so I didn't gain any weight back. I've been having problems with my stomach lately (acid reflux) so I can't eat certain foods so I decided after Christmas to try to lose more weight.
I've lost around 12 pounds since then. I walk on the treadmill every night and now I'm starting to try and tone myself up a bit by doing some lifting.
My waist has gone from a size 46 to a 38 and my blood pressure has gone WAY down.
I hope to get down well into the 220's or lower if possible. :-)

Welcome and congrats on your weight loss! That is wonderful. I'm also dieting and exercising. I'm not using wt loss meds or any other type diets, just watching fats/calories/sugars. I don't drink water like I should and I'm really trying to work on that. I'm hooked on diet coke, which I guess is better than regular coke huh?

Update:
I weighed in at around 218 last thursday. I've incorporated jogging into my routine and so far that has really helped. I try to jog at least 2 miles everyday. (4 days on the treadmill and 3 days outside) When I was in high school I could hardly go a half mile without stopping.
This is a great board. I may not post much but I do enjoy reading your posts. Keep up the great work folks!
